Jill Calder
Jill has more than 20 years experience in public relations having commenced her career in 1985 with Hoechst Australia. She focuses on public affairs with a particular emphasis on issues management and community relations. Working for Porter Novelli Australia and its predecessor company, Jill developed and implemented strategic communications programs for clients including Australia Paper, the Beverage Industry Environment Council, Carlton & United Breweries, Melbourne Water as well as Federal, State and Local governments. She has won a number of Australian and international public relations awards for her work.
Jill also headed the public affairs functions at two of Australia’s leading public companies – TABCORP Holdings Limited and Carlton & United Breweries and has worked in in-house positions with Hoechst Australia, Barwon Water, the Environment Protection Authority and the Transfield Obayashi Joint Venture.
Jill is a Fellow of the Williamson Community Leadership Program and is actively involved in Leadership Victoria’s activities.
Caroline Cottrill
Caroline’s experience in the public relations industry in both Australia and the United Kingdom as a consultant as well as in in-house public relations and promotions positions spans over two decades. Clients have included the award-winning Como Hotel in Melbourne, Mars Confectionary of Australia and UK, Masterfoods, Holeproof, SPC, Uncle Bens of Australia, Gillette Australia, Telstra, Australian Small Business and Advance Australia Awards and Shell Australia.
Caroline has also provided support to the Australian Olympic Committee and worked with a range of sporting associations and sponsorships. Caroline is a member of the Marketing and Public Relations Institutes and has won numerous industry awards in Australia and internationally.
Sally Abbott
Sally has more than 20 years’ experience as a senior communications professional in Australia, Hong Kong, China and Singapore and also worked as a journalist on rural and metropolitan newspapers in Australia for 8 years.
Sally has worked closely with companies such as Michelin Australia and Michelin Asia Pacific, Gillette Australia, General Motors Asian Pacific Operations, Elders Finance Asia, Jardine Fleming Holdings, OneSteel, Ferrari, Promedicus, Buena Vista, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Ramada International Hotels and Resorts, Saab Automobile, Australian Tourism Commission and Dell Computer Corporation, where her focus was the development and implementation of comprehensive corporate communications programs. Prior to establishing TANGO, Sally was a director of Porter Novelli Melbourne. Previously, she was Deputy Director Internal and External Communications for Michelin Asia Pacific and executive Vice President Asia for New York based public relations firm Ruder Finn.
Sally’s areas of expertise include editorial and media relations, internal communications change and issues management, the development and delivery of tailored training programs in public relations, media relations and crisis management, and integrated product launches and promotions
