Marketing Communications: Change Your Smoke Alarm Battery

TANGO PR initiated and manages the partnership between Australia’s fire services and Duracell batteries.

Running continuously since 2000, this national community awareness campaign encourages the public to change household smoke alarm batteries at the end of daylight savings or, in Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia, on April 1.

TANGO PR manages the state-by-state fire service sponsorships and is the national project manager, with responsibility for coordinating advertising, media buy and public relations campaigns.

Results of the campaign are outstanding and continue to grow each year. There is significant exposure across all target media and strong growth spikes in Duracell product sales. Overall, there is a 10-times return on investment in the specific public relations component.

Public Relations and Issues Management: The Hotel Windsor Melbourne

In addition to its on-going relationship with The Hotel Windsor, TANGO PR has worked closely with the property’s owners and management in 2007 and 2009 in the development and implementation of strategic communications initiatives with regards to the planned renovation and re-development of the hotel.

Activities undertaken during these significant projects included strategies and materials for announcements to media, the identification of key stakeholders and the preparation of relevant briefing materials, employee and guest communications, and the development of responses to key issues.
